Two Wiregrass Ranch girls have committed to Saint Leo, Bulls athletic director Dave Wilson said Thursday in a text message.

Soccer star Berlin Waters and standout softball player Rachael Heath have both pledged to the Lions.

Waters, a senior midfielder/forward, earned first-team all-conference honors last winter. She led Wiregrass with 23 goals in 21 games and was second on the team with 10 assists during her squad’s 17-5 season.

Waters is the third player on her team to commit to a college, after AJ Blount (USF) and Dayton Wetherby (Navy).

Heath earned honorable mention all-North Suncoast honors as a utility player and pitcher each of the last two seasons. She posted a 1.75 ERA with 20 strikeouts and in 20 innings as a junior. She also ranked among Wiregrass’ leaders with a .375 average, 12 RBIs and two home runs.

Verbal commitments are non-binding until recruits sign letters of intent during their senior seasons.
