Hudson senior QB Zack Wynn, who has more than 6,500 career passing yards and has been one of the region’s most productive players this fall, was named as the Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 8 MVP Tuesday night.

The district includes all teams from Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Pasco and Sumter counties.

Wynn has completed 157 of 279 passes this season for 1,896 yards and 15 touchdowns for the 4-4 Cobras. He has been intercepted 11 times.

“It was almost a unanimous decision,” Hudson coach Mark Nash said.

As district MVP, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound Wynn gets an automatic invite to play in the FACA North-South All-Star Game on Dec. 22 in Sebring, which brings together top players from Key West to Pensacola.

“He’s one of the best players I’ve ever coached,” Nash said. “He’s absolutely deserving of this.”
