Zephyrhills is searching for a new baseball coach.
Chad Sommers, who led the Bulldogs this season, has stepped down, according to Zephyrhills principal Steve Van Gorden. Van Gorden said in an e-mail he resigned "due to his business schedule."
Sommers, who owns a local residential real estate office, had previous stints as a Saint Leo assistant and as the coach of the Zephyrhills Snappers of the wooden-bat Florida Collegiate Summer League.
The Bulldogs had to rebuild their starting infield and make up for several transfers, including Wesley Chapel ace Cole Miraglia. The Bulldogs finished 10-16 this season.
