Zephyrhils senior third baseman Lacey Cook has six staples in her knee after an injury Thursday in a 4-1 win against Land O'Lakes.

Cook got a cut on her left knee, a recurring gash she has been urged to protect during games. She was not wearing any protective gear Thursday, her mother said.

Zephyrhills coach Craig Milburn said he anticipates losing her for up to two weeks, but hopes she can return next Friday. The Bulldogs entered Friday's game at River Ridge with a 6-1 record.
