Tropical Depression 19 forms, has small chance of becoming last-season hurricane

A late-season tropical depression has formed in the open Atlantic and has a remote chance of developing into a late-season hurricane.

As of early Monday morning, Tropical Depression 19 was located about 850 miles east-southeast of Bermuda. It is no threat to land as it moves to the north and northeast, forecasters say.

It has an 80 percent chance of forming into Tropical Storm Rina in the next 48 hours. However, forecasters say chances for development will be limited by the middle of the week as is reaches colder waters and merges with a cold front.

Hurricane season officially ends on Nov. 30.
