Clinton to match foundation gifts
Former President Bill Clinton says he will put up a $2 match for every $1 donated to his foundation this week. In a letter Tuesday sent out by the Clinton Foundation, Clinton says he will match all donations made through Saturday. He established the foundation as the anchor of his post-presidency work. It has a range of initiatives, including working with governments to improve access to treatment for people with AIDS and malaria, supporting small businesses in developing areas and looking for ways to combat climate change.
Prince is home after surgery
Prince Philip, husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, was released from the hospital Tuesday morning after heart surgery on Friday. The prince, 90, suffered chest pains on Christmas Eve while at the Sandringham estate, the royal family's country retreat 120 miles north of London. Buckingham Palace reported that the treatment he received was a "minimally invasive procedure of coronary stenting," in which a small balloon is inserted into an artery and then expanded to unblock it.
