Cocaine found in hollowed bolts

Drug traffickers have invented a new twist in the smuggling racket. In Argentina, customs officials say they found a Peruvian man with a box of metal screws in his baggage, trying to board a flight to South Africa. Agents using a scanner discovered that the screws were hollowed out, with 45 pounds of cocaine packed inside. The man was arrested and the cocaine seized.

Rover at edge of Mars crater

NASA says its surviving Mars rover Opportunity has reached the rim of Endeavour crater after a nearly three-year trek across the planet. The six-wheel rover signaled Tuesday that it reached a location on the rim that's been named Spirit Point in honor of Opportunity's twin, the rover Spirit that fell silent last year. Endeavour crater is 14 miles in diameter and is expected to give Opportunity a chance to examine rocks and terrain that are much older than any previously studied by the rover.

Deal struck for soldier cemetery

Germany and Montenegro sealed an agreement Wednesday on burying the remains of more than 400 German soldiers killed in the Balkan country during World War II. A site containing more than 400 Nazi soldiers killed between 1941 and 1945 in clashes with Yugoslav communist partisans was excavated by construction workers in 2007.
