Man shoots 3 on indian reservation

A man shot three people to death and wounded another on a California Indian reservation, and was killed himself several hours later in an exchange of gunfire with sheriff's deputies as he tried to flee in a vehicle, authorities said Sunday. The suspect, 31-year-old Hector Celaya, also shot and wounded his two daughters, ages 5 and 8, who were with him in the vehicle when he was apprehended about 2 a.m., officials said. It was unclear when the girls were shot. A motive for the attacks also wasn't known. The Tule River Indian Reservation, where the initial shooting took place, is about 50 miles north of Bakersfield. It relies on the Eagle Mountain Casino for revenue.


Police: Boy shot when father's gun goes off

State police in western Pennsylvania say a 7-year-old boy who was killed when his father's gun went off outside a gun store had been buckling himself into a safety seat in the man's truck. The boy was shot Saturday morning at Twigs Reloading Den in East Lackawannock Township, 60 miles north of Pittsburgh.


Boys, 7 and 11, attempt robbery

Two boys, ages 7 and 11, are accused of trying to rob a woman with a loaded gun, police said Sunday. The 11-year-old boy had a .22 caliber loaded handgun when officers found him Saturday at the parking lot of a church, police said. Detectives were investigating how the boys obtained a gun.


6 dead as heavy snow hits the Balkans

Freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall have killed at least six people and caused travel chaos across the Balkans, with rescue teams struggling to reach passengers stranded in buses and cars in Serbia on Sunday. Officials said four people died in Croatia and two in Serbia as a result of blizzards in the region of southwestern Europe.
