The holder of a winning Mega Millions ticket sold in Maryland claimed a share of the record-breaking $656 million prize on Monday, but will remain anonymous, state lottery officials announced. Maryland does not require lottery winners to be identified. The Maryland winner and one in Illinois and one in Kansas will each receive more than $218 million before taxes from the drawing on March 30. Kansas' winner claimed a share of the jackpot Friday, but also decided to remain anonymous.

Seattle's nursing moms supported

It's already against Washington state law to discriminate against public breast-feeding, but the Seattle City Council on Monday specifically made it illegal for businesses and other entities to ask nursing moms to stop, cover up or move to a different location in public areas. Supporters say moms in the city continue to be pressured despite the state law.

Queen gives high rank to Camilla

Queen Elizabeth II has appointed the Duchess of Cornwall to the highest female rank in the Royal Victorian Order, Buckingham Palace said Monday. The announcement that Camilla had been made a Dame Grand Cross came on the day of her seventh wedding anniversary with Prince Charles. Awards under the Royal Victorian Order, which was founded in 1896 by Queen Victoria, are given by the queen to people who have served her or the monarchy in a personal way. Once vilified as a the old flame who poisoned Charles' first marriage to Princess Diana, Camilla has become an integral member of the royal family.
