Teen shot in shoulder at gathering in Sulphur Springs

TAMPA — A 17-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Christmas night after being shot in shoulder, Tampa Police said.

The unidentified teen was amongst others at a get together at N 17th and E Idell streets at 7:25 p.m. when shots were fired. Revelers scattered leaving the wounded teen at the scene, said Lt. Barry Moskowitz, a spokesman for the police department. It appears the boy's injury was not serious.

No suspects have been identified and it was unclear Wednesday night where the gun shot came from. Police remained in the neighborhood investigating late into the evening.
