Ten hurt when car crashes into a Publix

At least 10 customers were injured when a vehicle smashed through a supermarket's entrance Saturday afternoon. The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said Thelma Wagenhoffer, 76, drove her car through the entrance of a Publix in Palm Coast. Johnson said Wagenhoffer was pulling up to a stop sign in front of the store when she apparently hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, two pedestrians were seriously injured inside the building and another eight suffered minor injuries. A Publix spokesman earlier confirmed that at least eight customers were injured. Troopers said Wagenhoffer was not injured. Charges are pending. Earlier this month, five were injured when a small plane crashed into a Publix in DeLand.
