Two teens arrested in beating of school bus driver

Teens charged with beating bus driver

Two teens pushed and repeatedly punched a school bus driver who had pulled over after they refused to close their windows because the air-conditioner was on, authorities said. The attack happened Monday after Charles Faulkner, 62, walked to the back of the bus to talk to students, Polk County sheriff's officials said. As he was returning to the driver's seat, officials say two 15-year-old boys knocked him down and hit him until he started bleeding from the head. The driver returned to his seat and called authorities. According to reports, the driver received three stitches and had swelling on his head. Deputies say the teens were arrested Tuesday, charged with aggravated battery on an education employee.

Large gator eats cat at trailer park

A Palm Bay neighborhood is on high alert after a large alligator ate a cat. Robert Geraci, 70, was browsing the Internet and sipping coffee Tuesday morning when he heard loud splashing in the canal behind his mobile home park. Geraci looked out and saw the cat in the gator's mouth. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials went to the scene Tuesday and agreed to send for a trapper. Gators larger than 4 feet long are killed, and the trapper gets to keep the meat and hide.
