Slayer may Reign in Blood forever, but their tenure as one of thrash metal's most influential acts is coming to a close.
But not without one more trip through Tampa.
The legendary metal act has announced yet another leg of their seemingly endless farewell tour, and it'll stop at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa on May 10. Tickets are $29.50 and up, and they'll go on sale Friday. Click here for details.
Fittingly, given Slayer's position as masters of their genre, they'll be accompanied by an all-star lineup of heavy music, including Lamb of God, Amon Amarth and Tampa's own Cannibal Corpse (although it's not clear how the arrest Tuesday of guitarist Pat O'Brien on charges of burglary and aggravated assault will play into the tour news).
But Slayer has soldiered on through worse, including the 2013 death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who was with the band during their last Tampa Bay concert in 2012. Their farewell may stretch on through the end of 2019, if not beyond, but it won't leave anything on the table.
