Radio station Spirit FM 90.5 is starting a project to pass along letters, cards and drawings of support to local law enforcement.

The 10-24 Project is named after the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office code for "send help" and will deliver the cards on Saturday — or 10/24.

Entries must be delivered to the station at 717 S. Dale Mabry Hwy by Friday. On Saturday, the messages will delivered to police and sheriff's offices in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Polk counties.

The project was created by the station's promotions director and announcer Abby Brundage, who said they need more entries, but have had a strong response so far.

"One of my favorite letters has come from a woman whose opening line read, 'I want to thank you for arresting me back in 2008,'" Brundage said. "It goes to show that lives can be turned around and our law enforcement's hard work pays off."
