Two ex-Ravens help beat old team
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith know a bit about Baltimore's defense. They also know Ravens cornerback Shareece Wright, a 49ers teammate just weeks ago.
Boldin and Smith, Ravens teammates when they defeated San Francisco in Super Bowl XLVII in February 2013, helped beat Baltimore on Sunday. And Wright's embarrassing outing helped his former 49ers teammates.
"When you have a guy on your team for that long and get to see him every day in practice, you understand his weaknesses, as well as his strengths," Boldin said. "That was one of the things that we wanted to attack."
Wright, released by the 49ers Oct. 10 and signed by the Ravens last week, was flagged for holding Boldin in the first quarter to set up Phil Dawson's second field goal. Smith then burned the cornerback on a career-long 76-yard touchdown to make it 13-3.
