A popular St. Petersburg and Clearwater plus size resale boutique, Curv Exchange, has made its way to Tampa and will open its third location Saturday at 6815 N Dale Mabry Hwy.
The boutique geared strictly for the curvy women thrives on trading and selling a large inventory of clothing, handbags, shoes, accessories and jewelry.
In a world of judgement, Curv Exchange prides itself on creating a comfortable shopping experience for curvy, plus-sized women by providing trendy, name brand clothing at a lower cost ranging from $7 to $12.
"It is a place for a curvy woman to come in and feel welcome, feel at home and get a super selection of inventory that actually meets their needs," said owner Estella Myers.
"We start at size 14 and go up to size six-, seven-, eight-X, which often arenít even in stores, you have to order those online."
They are very selective in the inventory, they only accept clothing styles of the last four to five years, and offer name brands like Torrid, Lane Bryant, and even clothing from Target.
"Everything is washed and ready to put out, itís in fantastic condition, itís not worn, peeling or old," Myers said. "Weíre making something thatís already been pre-loved like itís a brand new experience."
After operating for only one year, their other locations have been extremely successful, taking in around 1,000 pieces a week from trading just three days out of the week, and they expect the same if not more at this location which features 2,400 square feet of floor space.
Myers says part of the reason they have been able to do so well is due to the high demand for plus size clothing, so they hope to expand to two more locations this year in Brandon and Pasco county.
Curv Exchange is open from 10 a.m to 7 p.m. on the weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.
