Chef Inspired Popcorn moves to south tampa

Chef Inspired Popcorn, a local shop known for more than a hundred fun flavors of gourmet popcorn just kicked off their grand opening this weekend at their new location at 3204 W Bay to Bay Blvd.

Lazette Rivera, the owner is allergic to gluten and since popcorn is naturally gluten free she started making it at home with her daughter and turned it into a small business with the first location in Town Ní Country. Hence, the company is named Chef Inspired Popcorn.

The Windy City, which is a cheddar and caramel mix is their best seller and they have a variety of flavors like chocolate covered caramel, banana split, chocolate birthday cake and many more. With so many flavors it can be hard for a newcomer to decide, so they have many samples on the wall to help guide your decision.

"We have about 25 different flavors on the wall so to be able to taste test the different ones is a fun experience itself," said store manager Shirley Rivera.

In an area where there arenít many restaurants strictly for popcorn they stand out especially because they cater to adults and children with allergies.

"Unfortunately, nowadays thereís so many people with those two different types of allergies that they look for specific snacks they can eat," Rivera said.

"At our shop we can always guarantee if you have a peanut allergy itís peanut free, if you have a gluten allergy itís gluten free."

Prices range anywhere from $3.50 to $17 depending on the bag size and if you select a sweet, savory, or specialty item. They operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. For more information visit cipopcorn.com.
