St. Petersburg Lodge 1224 donates to high school group raising money for special need students

Dixie Hollins High School’s Civitan Club recently volunteered at the St. Pete Lodge Soul Train Motown event to feed its more than 300 attendees. After the event, the Lodge raised $514 in cash for this group of 14 kids. Their sponsor, Brenda Hankin, said the Civitan Club will be donating the money to the Nina Harris Exceptional Student Education School in Pinellas Park for the purchase of a Firefly Upsee, a harness that attaches to an adult and allows a child with motor impairment to stand upright and walk with the help of an adult.

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital names Chris Whitby to the role of vice president/chief financial officer

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital recently named Chris Whitby to the role of vice president/chief financial officer. Whitby joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s in 2016 as senior director of finance and also served as interim CFO since fall 2017. Whitby has more than a decade of financial experience, serving in roles at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. He has also worked in pharmaceutical research as a laboratory technician for Prevalere Life Sciences in Whitesboro, New York. Whitby completed his B.S. in accountancy at University of Maryland.
