Tampa residents have always treasured Toffee to Go and its nationally-recognized award-winning sweets.
But now, The Dessert Spot located at 3251 W Bay to Bay Blvd. will expand their variety of treats by adding coffee, cakes, cookies, milkshakes, pastries, ice cream and pies featuring Mike’s Pies, Working Cow homemade ice cream, and Kahwa coffee.
They use their signature preservative-free toffee in many of their desserts, which is handmade from small batches of farm fresh butter, premium chocolates, California almonds and Georgia pecans.
"We’re thrilled to give Tampa a distinctive dessert cafe that brings people together over delicious local creations," said general manager Courtney Schalk.
So far, its most popular items are the desserts with the toffee in them. This includes the Toffee Cheesecake, with folded toffee inside, toffee sauce on top with coffee crumbles and a brownie crust, chocolate toffee layer cake with buttercream frosting and cookies.
Schalk says it’s just what South Tampa needed.
"It’s a fun place to bring people of all ages," Schalk said. "People around the neighborhood love it and we’ve seen the same faces coming in and trying different desserts."
Prices are inexpensive ranging from $2.50 to $4.95 and they operate Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
