WATCH: ‘60 MINUTES’ DETAILS ‘DISTURBING QUESTIONS’ SURROUNDING ALLEGIANT AIR

A Tampa Bay Times investigation in 2016 — which included a first-of-its kind analysis of federal aviation records — found that Allegiant Air’s planes are four times as likely to fail during flight as those operated by other major U.S. airlines. Findings from that investigation were reiterated during a segment on CBS’ 60 Minutes, in which the network exposed "disturbing questions" surrounding the budget airline. Among those are "an alarming number of aborted takeoffs, cabin pressure loss, emergency descents, and unscheduled landings." In case you missed the 60 Minutes report, you can watch it here.

HER SON KILLED ANOTHER TEEN, NOW VALRICO MOM WILL SPEND TWO YEARS ON HOUSE ARREST

Heidi Quinn stood in chains and an orange jail suit as she faced the parents and friends of Jayquon Johnson, who died New Year’s Day 2017. "I’m very sorry, what happened," Quinn said. "I cannot even imagine how bad you feel about this. It hurts me too. I’m very sorry." Circuit Judge Michelle Sisco sentenced Quinn to 30 days in the jail, 21 of which she has already served. She also ordered Quinn to complete two years of house arrest — during which she can only attend work and religious services — followed by two years of probation.

KIDS ARE SUING GOV. RICK SCOTT TO FORCE FLORIDA TO TAKE ACTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE

Florida Gov. Rick Scott doesn’t talk about climate change. He notoriously declared "I’m not a scientist" when asked his thoughts on humanity’s well-documented impact on the warming planet, banned the phrase in his administration (a charge he denies) and backed up President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris accord. On Monday, an unusual group intends to sue Scott for ignoring the climate threat: Kids.
