Wesley Chapel ice rink now has a restaurant and bar

Florida Hospital Center Ice is home to five ice rinks for hockey, ice skating, figure skating, and curling, and whether you work up an appetite while watching or participating, a new restaurant and bar inside the facility offers something for everyone.

Top Shelf Sports Lounge celebrated its ribbon cutting and grand opening with the North Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, formerly the Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce, on Feb. 2.

Located on the mezzanine level, the 2,500 square foot full service bar and restaurant features floor to ceiling windows that look down on the ice.

"From our bar, 20 steps either way, allows you to see three rinks at once," said Keelan Cottle, partner & owner/operator.

Top Shelf diners can enjoy an upscale sports bar menu while watching live sports on TV, as well as live action on the ice. "Our menu is very eclectic," Cottle said. "Everything on our menu is made from scratch."

Menu items include burgers, wings, pork belly tacos, fresh tuna poki, wraps, bowls, and poutine. One of the most popular items are the Ybor egg rolls which is a Cuban sandwich wrapped into an egg roll and deep fried. There is a full liquor bar, four wines on tap and twenty beers on tap, including craft beer from 81Bay and Coppertail Brewing. Cottle developed the beer menu to showcase local craft beers.

In addition to Top Shelf, Cottle and partners Joe Boyd and Ray Tamargo also handle the food and beverage for the entire facility, including the 1,000 square foot concession area on the bottom level. They also provide catering services for events and parties that take place on the covered ice.
