Zephyrhills man arrested on child pornography charges

ZEPHYRHILLS — A Zephyrhills man was arrested Friday after Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies said they found child pornography on his computer.

Richard Henry Townsend, 52, faces 10 child pornography charges, deputies said.

Deputies said they identified Townsend’s computer address while investigating child pornography. Townsend shared thousands of files on multiple occasions, according to an arrest report.

Townsend confessed to using peer-to-peer file sharing, searching for child pornography and having images on his hard drive, deputies said. Deputies searched Townsend’s home and computer and found multiple images of child pornography, according to the arrest report.

Townsend was being held Monday at the Pasco County jail.
