Seniors in need of a ride get help from FDOT website

If you ever find yourself in need of a ride, there is a Florida Department of Transportation website that can help you. Most of the choices are private (you) pay, but it is nice to know there's an emergency transportation resource out there if you need it.

In 2009, the FDOT, through its Safe Mobility for Life Program in the State Traffic Engineering and Operations Office, reached out to the Pepper Institute on Aging and Public Policy at FSU to establish a statewide coalition to address the specific needs of Florida's aging road users. You can see all the data that has been gathered at safeandmobileseniors.org.

Included are lists of transportation providers. You'll find a map of Florida showing all the counties at safeandmobileseniors.org/findaride.htm. Click on your county and a list of ride resources will pop up.
