Graziano's attorneys unimpressed by Hulk Hogan's tears

TAMPA — A day after Hulk Hogan cried on Larry King Live, attorneys for the man seriously injured in his son's car wreck said tears without action won't sway public opinion.

"It's obvious he's rehearsed it a lot," attorney George Tragos said. But "there's no denying what's been said."

In recorded conversations with his jailed son, Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, suggested John Graziano must have done something to bring his injuries on himself. But in his televised interview Tuesday night, Hogan said his statements were taken out of context.

Graziano's attorneys said the interview showed the public man, while the jailhouse statements revealed the private man.

The attorneys spoke with local reporters Wednesday afternoon outside WEDU-Ch. 3 in Tampa, then headed inside to tape their response to Hogan's interview for CNN's Showbiz Tonight.

"He's talked the talk," attorney Kimberley Kohn said, "now it's time to walk the walk."

Meanwhile, in the Bollea divorce case, Linda Bollea filed a motion June 2 asking Circuit Court Judge George Greer to put her husband in the Pinellas County Jail for contempt of court.

She claims Hogan violated a court order by failing to fork over more than $3-million to close on a Las Vegas condominium on May 30, the closing date.

"The husband apparently vanished from the face of the Earth on May 30, 2008," the motion filed by Linda Bollea's attorneys read.

In a response two days later, Hogan's attorney said Hogan was not told a closing time had been arranged and didn't receive closing documents.

Linda Bollea's attorney, A.J. Barranco, released a statement Wednesday that said "the request for jail time is standard procedural language." He wrote that she is simply asking the court to get her husband to close on the property.

A hearing is scheduled for July 8.
