Francis stopped Monday at the Mount Herzl memorial to victims of terrorist attacks and at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial.
He invited Presidents Shimon Peres of Israel and Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority to his apartment in the Vatican to pray together. Both men accepted.
