Bizarre News

A woman tweeted ‘show me pictures of weird stuff in your parents house.’ The replies were amazing.

A brave woman logged onto Twitter Thursday afternoon with a simple request.

"Please show me pictures of weird stuff in your parents house," @jenndangerous tweeted at 12:40 as many of us were gathering around the Thanksgiving table at our relatives’ homey, if unfamiliar dwellings.

Jenn, whose Twitter bio says she hails from Chicago, couldn’t have imagined the firestorm of delightful internet weirdness her simple request was about to ignite.

Turns out, some of our parents have really weird stuff. Here were some of our favorite replies to 2017’s best Thanksgiving weekend tweet.

Weird Animals

What would any home be without "Wooden goose that guards our shoes (?)"

This user’s parents displayed a monkey that — I believe — is doing an imitation of all of us after the third slice of pie.

Just a frog fishing. Casual.

Weird Humans

Parents are the best.

Get into the holiday spirit with "Baby foot santa!"

Ok, this one is legit cool and I want it.

Honestly, I Don’t Even Know

Any compilation of weird parent stuff would be incomplete without a strangely extensive collection of items that most people wouldn’t even consider collectable. (My grandparents collect owl figurines. Hi, Grandma and Grandpa!)

Pound for pound this might be the best reply of all. Why would one purchase an item that requires them to routinely decapitate Shakespeare?

I laughed the hardest at this reply.

Thank you, Jenn. You may not have expected your tweet to go viral, but we are so glad it did.
