Pasco deputies: Man wouldn't leave motel without a pickle

WESLEY CHAPEL — All he wanted was a pickle.

Jonathon Mark Aikin, 48, was told numerous times by a manager to leave the Comfort Inn at 5642 Oakley Blvd., but he wouldn't, a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report said. A deputy arrived and told Aikin the same thing.

It was not clear why Aikin was asked to leave. After about 10 minutes of arguing, he laid out his conditions:

"I'm not going anywhere until I eat a pickle," he said, according to the report.

Aikin then opened a refrigerator, took out a jar of pickles and shoved one into his mouth.

The deputy arrested him on a charge of trespassing after a warning. Aikin, of 20525 NW 46th Ave. in Gainesville, was being held Thursday in the Land O'Lakes jail. Bail was set at $150.
