20 people vying to be head of housing agency
The Pasco County Housing Authority has 20 applicants who want to be the agency's executive director. The list includes housing executives in several other states as well as those with experience at public housing agencies across Florida. The agency has been operating with an interim director since Karen Turner resigned in September under accusations of mismanagement. David Lambert, the chairman of the board that oversees the agency, said he hopes to interview the candidates in January and have a new director in place by February. Lambert also said he hopes to receive an overdue audit covering the 2010 fiscal year in April. That missing audit could prompt federal regulators to label the housing authority as a "troubled agency" in an upcoming report.
