BOAT REPLICA DEDICATED TO AMERICAN LEGION POST OFFICER: A replica of PT Boat 562 was dedicated and presented to American Legion Post 273 Madeira Beach executive officer Monte Palmer, 94, who served on the boat during World War II.

MENORAH MANOR EMPLOYEES RECEIVE AWARDS: Two Menorah Manor employees received the certified nursing assistant (CNA) and licensed practical nurses (LPN) Awards of Excellence at the Florida Association Directors of Nursing Administration’s 31st Annual Conference. Sadeta Kabilovic received first place for the CNA Award of Excellence and Annette Jackson received second place for the LPN Award of Excellence. Menorah Manor, 255 59th St. N, is a not-for-profit community sponsored organization established in 1985 to provide the care in a home-like, Jewish environment to the seniors on Florida’s gulf coast.

FREE CLINIC PROGRAM RECEIVES CERTIFICATION: The St. Petersburg Free Clinic’s Virginia and David Baldwin Women’s Residence program received a Recovery Residence Certification from the Florida Association of Recovery Residences, the statewide chapter of the National Association of Recovery Residences. The Florida association evaluates and monitors organizations providing recovery support in community-based, residential settings throughout Florida. The Free Clinic’s Women’s Residence provides a safe place for women to live while they develop the skills necessary for independent living. It’s the first women-only residence in Pinellas County to receive this certification. Since the program’s start in 1989, the St. Petersburg Free Clinic has helped thousands of women regain independence.
