All ages welcome at Fairgrounds for New Year's Eve

The Hernando County Fair Association will present a New Year's Eve Celebration starting at 8 p.m. Friday at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 S Broad St. This is a family-friendly event; all ages are welcome. There will be entertainment and refreshments as well as a tangerine drop and fireworks at midnight. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for 17 and younger. An optional dinner from Golden Corral will be available for $20 for adults, $10 for children. For information, call (352) 796-4552.

Martin Luther King Jr. celebration day

A Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Day is planned for Jan. 17 in south Brooksville. A parade will start at 10 a.m. at Emerson Road and end at Kennedy Park, where there will be a number of events for all ages. For information, call Ann Williams at (352) 277-8753.
