Looking to get out? The CARES Elfers Travel Office has released its lineup of trips for June:
• June 8, 17 and 29: Hard Rock Casino. $20 cost includes a $25 gambling voucher and a $5 lunch voucher. Bus leaves at 9 a.m.
• June 10: Seaport Adventure, a narrated tour of Tampa Bay. Lunch at your own expense at the Ybor City's Spaghetti Warehouse. $20. Bus leaves at 8 a.m.
• June 15: Ikea. See what all the advertising is about and shop the new Ikea store. Lunch at your own expense in the store's restaurant. $20. Bus leaves at 10 a.m.
• June 18: Dali Museum. Cost of $30 includes museum admission and guided tour. Lunch at St. Petersburg Pier at your own expense. Bus leaves at 8:30 a.m.
• June 27: Derby Lane dog track. Cost of $32 includes transportation, admission, program and buffet lunch. Bus leaves at 10:15 a.m.
• June 28: Rays vs. Marlins. Cost of $40 includes transportation, field entrance, seats and a voucher for a hot dog and drink. Bus leaves the CARES Elfers Center at 11 a.m.; or Hudson-area residents can catch the bus at 11:45 a.m. at the CARES Rao Musunuru, M.D. Enrichment Center, 12417 Clock Tower Parkway, Hudson.

Expo prepares you for storm season
With hurricane season around the corner, it's time to brush up on safety tips and take the appropriate precautions. Get up to speed at Hurricane Expo 2009: Protecting What Matters Most, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center, 6630 Van Buren St. The free event, sponsored by Pasco's Office of Emergency Management, will include public safety and vendor displays, and information from meteorologists. Meet Rays' mascot Raymond at library
Kids will have the opportunity to meet the Rays' Street Team and Raymond, their mascot, at 1 p.m. June 5 at the Land O'Lakes Library, 2818 Collier Parkway. Raymond will entertain and pose for photos. This appearance is made possible through the expansion into Pasco County of the popular Reading with the Rays summer reading program for kids. The St. Petersburg Times' Reading with the Rays insert will be delivered to local schools and branches of the Pasco County Library System as well as being published in the St. Petersburg Times.
