Two AT&T cell sites boost Pasco service

AT&T is activating two new cell sites in Pasco County. The new sites are among about 100 that AT&T plans to add in Florida this year.

In northwestern Pasco County, a new cell site on Antler Lane, just east of the Suncoast Parkway and north of the Shady Hills Road exit, is boosting coverage in Shady Hills and eastern Spring Hill.

Another new cell site near County Line Road and Meadow Pointe Boulevard in Wesley Chapel is expanding coverage in the Meadow Pointe subdivision.

The new cell sites are part of AT&T's ongoing expansion of its high-speed, third-generation network — the nation's fastest 3G network, according to recent data compiled by independent wireless research firms.

AT&T announced in late May that it would upgrade its 3G network to deliver even faster mobile broadband speeds.

The network upgrades are slated to begin later this year, with completion expected in 2011.
