About 3 a.m. Friday, a 2005 Ford Escape driven by Verena Wartmann, 49, of Greenwood, Ind., was heading south when it swerved across the lanes and hit the guardrail, the FHP said. The car flipped over the rail and into the median, landing on its roof. Marylouise Wartmann, 16, of Greenwood, died after she was thrown from the car. Verena Wartmann was seriously injured and taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. Bettina Hauch, 41, of Rheinfelden, Switzerland, was taken to Brooksville Regional Hospital with minor injuries, and Annekathrin Wartmann, 20, of Greenwood, was not injured. FHP asks any witnesses to call, toll-free, 1-800-500-1240.
