The Spring Hill Garden Club is seeking volunteers to help at the Nature Coast Botanical Gardens on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings. The gardens, at 1489 Parker Ave., are open daily during daylight hours and include 18 themed gardens. The adjacent plant nursery is open from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays and Saturdays. Commission cancels two panel meetings

Sip and snack at artist's reception
A free wine and cheese reception for watercolor artist Kathleen Wilson will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Easy Street Home Decor, 100 N Brooksville Ave. Wilson, a Florida native, has been studying art since discovering watercolors in 2000. She started teaching with the Hernando County Adult Education program in 2003. Wilson is also the former chairwoman of the Hernando County Fine Arts Council and is a member of the Spring Hill Art League. Her works will be on display at Easy Street through the end of July.
