A free "End Digestive Problems" workshop will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Zopp Memorial Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive.
Participants will learn about natural, nondrug solutions for those who suffer from acid reflux, hiatal hernia, irritable bowel, ulcers, Crohn's disease and other digestive problems. The speaker is Mary Bristow, acupuncturist and doctor of Oriental medicine with the Foundation for Wellness Professionals.

Senior Program needs volunteers 55 or older
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program needs volunteers 55 or older.
Areas of volunteering include working in thrift stores, clerical, mentoring, tutoring, teacher's aide, teen pregnancy, Meals on Wheels, senior centers, nature, museum docent or researcher, library, food banks and animal care. Volunteers can visit with children who don't have anyone else to rely on or elderly residents who are homebound or just need companionship.

Help staff Jumpstart into Early Education
The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando counties is seeking organizations for partnership opportunities to help with its Jumpstart into Early Learning events in August.
The events include activities and educational experiences for school-readiness children (age 5 and younger) at no cost. Children will each receive a lunch box or backpack filled with items such as tissues, crayons, wipes, glue and scissors.
Jumpstart into Early Learning events will be offered at the following locations:
• 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 3 at Redlands Christian Migrant Association, 15029 14th St., Dade City
• 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Salvation Army, 7745 Ridge Road, Port Richey
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 8 at Mid-Florida/Head Start, 835 School St., Brooksville.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10209, 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, will host the following upcoming events:
• Caribbean Pirate Night, Saturday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Music by Rusty & Nick will start at 7 p.m. There will be a treasure hunt, silent auction and a costume contest for best pirate, scariest pirate and funniest pirate. Food will be available for purchase. Tickets are $10, available in the canteen.
• Welcome Home Bash for National Guard Unit 1-244th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 5 p.m. July 18, in the canteen. The unit recently returned home from Iraq.
