Top Tampa Bay area events in the upcoming week

On stage: Two big productions are worth your attention, starting Tuesday. Be among the first to see previews of the (hopefully) Broadway-bound musical Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure. 13 Ugly Men Roasted: The annual Thanksgiving Eve soiree is a block party this year, taking over two bars on Ashley Street in downtown Tampa: Raw Bar Sushi and Taps Wine Bar and Lounge. It starts at 8 p.m. Wednesday. $10 for ladies, $20 for men. (813) 422-5220; 13uglymen.com.

Tree lightings: On Friday, St. Petersburg lights up its holiday tree and decorations along the waterfront in Straub Park at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Santa lights the 30-foot tree in Old Hyde Park Village in Tampa, with music, carriage rides and carolers 6 to 8 p.m. Both events are free.

Turkey Trot: If you'd like to head off a weight gain from eating too much Thanksgiving turkey, check out the Times Turkey Trot on Thursday at Clearwater High School, 540 S Hercules Ave. There's the 10K Turkey Trot at 8:30 a.m., or if you're not quite up to that distance, there's the 5K Wingding at 7, the 5K Fun Run at 7:30 or the 1-Mile Gobbler at 8:30. Entry fees are $15 for the three longer races ($20 race day) and $10 for the 1-miler ($12 race day). Each participant is asked to bring a canned good or nonperishable food items on race day for the food pantry program at Religious Community Services.
