Officer honored for helping child victims

Sgt. Katy Connor-Dubina, a 24-year veteran of the Police Department, was among the law officers and victim advocates to receive an award from Attorney General Bill McCollum during National Crime Victim's Rights Week on April 16.

In nominating Connor-Dubina, police officials described how she was willing to get new locks installed for a woman who was afraid of her ex-boyfriend, help interview young sexual assault victims and even work after hours to make sure victims got appropriate tests in confusing cases.
