Craft show will highlight work of the Red Cross

The St. Pete Craft Heroes, an organizing committee of local artists, is presenting "Craft Emergency" in partnership with the Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross on June 1.

The event is scheduled for the first day of hurricane season in an effort to call attention to the tremendous work done locally by the Red Cross.

"Craft Emergency" will be a one day art and craft extravaganza and will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Red Cross Park and Offices, 818 Fourth St. N, across from Starbucks Coffee in St. Petersburg.

St. Pete Craft Heroes is donating a large part of the vendor registration fees to the Red Cross.

During the event, shoppers can sign up to volunteer for the Red Cross, learn about classes it offers, and buy emergency items like CPR and first aid kits.
