A 64-year-old Spring Hill man pleaded guilty Friday to three counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of children under the age of 12. Circuit Judge Stephen Rushing sentenced Jonathan E. Golden to four years in prison followed by 20 years of sex offender probation. Golden faced life in prison for molesting his stepgrandchildren, a 5-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy he babysat before his arrest in February. The judge agreed to label Golden a sexual predator.
Deal sends burglar to jail for a year
A homeless man charged with 31 counts of burglary received a year in county jail under a plea deal reached Friday. Jason Darcangelo, 33, broke into and stole items from a number of storage units before his arrest in May. Prosecutors amended the charges to include nine counts of burglary and 19 counts of criminal mischief. Darcangelo, who has an extensive criminal record, lived in one of the storage units. He told the judge he plans to enlist in the Army after he serves his time.

Arc camp needs donors, sponsors
The Arc Nature Coast needs sponsors for the annual campout Oct. 15-17 at Chinsegut Hill. All sponsors will have their company/organization name printed on the T-shirts that will be distributed to campers, volunteers and staff. Sponsors and donations are needed for a variety of activities and entertainment. A donation of $30 will pay for a scholarship for a day camper, $120 will provide a scholarship for an overnight camper and varying amounts are needed for desired entertainment. Any donation amount is appreciated. An expected 100 campers will participate in the annual program for developmentally disabled individuals the Arc Nature Coast serves.
