Share your memories of Tony Bennett

Tony Bennett will headline the opening night of the Clearwater Jazz Holiday on Oct. 16. At 82, the jazz and popular music legend has performed around the world for decades. Perhaps you have a favorite memory about him whether you've seen him in concert or not. If so, we'd like to hear about it as we get ready to preview his appearance. Please send your Tony Bennett memories by noon Tuesday via e-mail to north pin@sptimes.com or by mail to 710 Court St., Clearwater, FL 33756. Or you can drop it off at the Times' office at the Court Street address.

Volunteers needed for Jazz Holiday

Organizers of the 29th annual Clearwater Jazz Holiday are looking for volunteers to help with every aspect of the four-day, free music event slated for Oct. 16-19. Jobs include selling merchandise, pouring beer and wine, distributing soft drinks and water and checking IDs. If you have carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or handyman skills, your help is requested in the site services building along with tearing down the event infrastructure. Sign up online at www.clearwaterjazz.com and click on Volunteers; or call the Jazz Holiday office at (727) 461-5200 and ask for a registration form.
