DADE CITY

Man Arrested in invasion and assault

A stranger with a handgun forced his way into a woman's Lake Avenue home in the early morning hours of April 21. He forced the woman to perform a sex act on him while he held the gun to her head, Dade City police said. Then he left with the victim's cell phone, wallet and cash. Last month, police said, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement crime lab matched DNA from the scene to Mandarin Heshami Colbert, 30, whose last known address was 38344 Hampton Ave., Dade City. Police arrested him Wednesday when Colbert arrived at the Parole and Probation office in Dade City for a scheduled appointment. He is charged with home invasion robbery and sexual battery with a deadly weapon, and was held in lieu of $200,000 bail.

Police looking for would-be carjacker

Zephyrhills police are searching for a man who tried to carjack someone in the parking lot of Florida Medical Clinic about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police say the man, depicted in the sketch to the left, brandished a black handgun and tried to steal a car. But he ran off when spotted by a witness. The man is white, older than 45, over 6-feet-tall, weighs between 150 and 175 pounds with brown eyes and graying hair. He was wearing a green hat, a light colored shirt, jeans and brown shoes. Anyone with information was asked to call Zephyrhills police at (813) 780-0050.

LAND O'LAKES

Clean the garage, with glass of wine

Got a few items to sell but little time to do it? Florida Estates Winery is hosting its first "yard sale/wine festival" on Saturday. Winemaker Ron Hunt says you can just show up, either to sell or shop, at the 10-acre site. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the winery estate at 25241 State Road 52. Hunt says sellers should bring a blanket on which to display their items.

Correction
