Be an angel, grant a wish for needy child

The Christmas Angel Program of Hernando County is seeking donations and sponsors for children's Christmas wish lists. The program serves Hernando County children from infancy through teenage years who have been deemed "in need" and referred by schools and charitable agencies. Sponsors are provided with the children's wish lists, including clothing sizes and toy wishes. The nonprofit organization is also seeking donations of working used computers (Windows ME or above). To help, call Mary or Bill Scarff at (352) 596-1552 and leave a message.

Centenarians, sign up now for party

The residents will be honored at the sixth annual Centenarian Birthday Party Jan. 6 at SunTrust Bank in downtown Brooksville. Today is the deadline for centenarians to be included in the celebration. Call Health and Human Services at (352) 540-4338.

SPRING HILL

Help decorate for Angels on High

The Spring Hill Community Association is organizing the eighth annual Angels on High celebration and invites area businesses, organizations, schools, churches and individuals to participate. The event will be Dec. 11-14 on the Lake House grounds, 1202 Kenlake Ave. Participants decorate an angel for the outdoor display and contest. There is no cost to enter an angel. Angel kits cost $40, or participants may use their own supplies. The event includes a tree-lighting each night, entertainment at the Palmwood Pavilion stage and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The deadline to reserve an angel space is Nov. 28. Call Cara at (352) 666-4746.
