Benefit Concert raising funds for local boy

Kids Helping Kids, a program of the Shawn and Jessica Doolittle Children's Charity Fund, will host a benefit concert for Joey Burns, who has been in a coma-like state since he was injured while playing football at Delta Woods Park. The concert takes place 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Christian Church in the Wildwood, 10051 Country Road. Tickets are $10, and all funds go to Joey. Donations also are appreciated and can be mailed to Kids Helping Kids of SJD Children's Charity Fund Inc., 14303 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. Kids Helping Kids is a local nonprofit organization that performs musicals and dance productions to raise funds for children in need. Call (352) 684-7455, (352) 596-1388 or (813) 766-3228.

Ministry hosts conference

Vision Temple Ministries will present a New Year's conference Friday though Sunday at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 S Broad St. The event will feature Dr. J.L. Reception planned for artist Starkey

A wine-and-cheese reception for artist Joseph Starkey takes place 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Easy Street Home Decor, 848 E Jefferson St. Starkey is best known for his European cafe scenes. Winning ticket sold at Hess Express

One of five winning tickets in Saturday's Florida Lottery Fantasy 5 drawing was sold at Hess Express at 3495 Deltona Blvd. With a jackpot of $264,311.55, each winning ticket was worth $52,862.31. The winning numbers were 2, 6, 11, 20 and 25.

Resolutions set; now keep them

A free seminar on popular New Year's resolutions and how to keep them will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Atria Evergreen Woods, 7030 Evergreen Woods Trail. Participants will learn how to accomplish their goals on weight loss and fitness, kicking bad habits and learning something new. Healthy refreshments will be provided.
