Boxing legend Angelo Dundee celebrates 90th birthday at Bern's

TAMPA — He's legendary in the boxing business, so it was only fitting that Angelo Dundee's birthday cake featured not flowers but a big red glove.

On Tuesday, Dundee celebrated his 90th birthday with about 25 friends and relatives at Bern's Steak House.

Now a Palm Harbor resident, Dundee was a cornerman who honed some of the biggest names in boxing, including Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Dundee quipped that he hadn't worked too hard to turn 90. "I never tried," he said. "It just came."
