Toys for Tots: The SouthShore Chamber of Commerce holds a Toys for Tots/U.S. Marine Corps Reserve event Sunday at the Ruskin VFW Post 6287, 5120 U.S. 41 N. It features food, music and Santa and requires only one new unwrapped toy for admittance.

Christmas concert: The Performing Arts Company presents its annual benefit concert "Wall to Wall Christmas" on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Rollins Theater, 970 Cherry Hills Drive. Featured performers include company favorites Lew Resseguie, Ellen Kleinschmidt, Kathy Straub, Alex Burns, Michael Peacock, Eileen Valentino, & Chuck Collett. Special guests are modern jazz dance troupe Jazz Ma Tazz and JAM, a children's chorus from the Sun City Center United Methodist Church. All proceeds will go to the Make a Wish Foundation. Holiday concert: The music of Christmas and Hanukkah will be performed Saturday at 3 p.m. by the South Shore Symphony Orchestra at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 1015 Del Webb Blvd. Conducted by Dr. Susan Bailey Robinson, the concert score include The Polar Express, by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard and Leroy Anderson's A Christmas Festival, conducted by associate conductor Dr. June Hammond.

Scandinavian Club Christmas dinner: The Scandinavian Club of Sun City presents its annual Christmas Smorgasbord at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at Club Renaissance. The menu includes pea soup, herring salad, salmon, liver pate, red cabbage, Swedish meatballs, desserts, coffee and tea. There will be a cash bar and live music. The cost is $30 for members and $35 for guests. Miracle on 34th: The Village Players continue the presentation of Miracle on 34th Street today and Saturday at 8:15 p.m. in the James McCabe Theatre, 508 N Fifth St. The players present a special matinee performance Sunday at 3 p.m. and the show concludes with performances Dec. 14 and Dec. 15. The performances this weekend also serve as a drop-off point for cookies and Christmas letters that will be shipped overseas to active military personnel. Build a bear for Toys for Tots: Give the gift of a teddy bear to a child this holiday season by donating a toy to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Visit any Build-A-Bear Workshop between today and Sunday to drop off a new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots or purchase a furry friend to donate to the toy drive at the store. Throughout the weekend, volunteer members of the U.S. Marine Corps will be on hand at stores at select times to collect the toys. The toys will be distributed to children in need this holiday season.
