Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W Brandon Blvd., will host a Memorial Day car show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event on Monday also will include a memorial service at 11 a.m. as well as free food from BubbaQue's. Goodwill Industries prepares for job fair

Goodwill Industries-Suncoast will hold a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 9 at the Goodwill superstore, 1106 E Brandon Blvd.Goodwill is looking to hire retail management staff and sales and donations processing associates for Goodwill stores in Brandon and Ruskin. Scholarship for career in assisting elderly

The Better Living for Seniors Hillsborough Alliance is now accepting applications for its $1,000 academic scholarship, which will be awarded to a student in good standing who is enrolled in a formal, post secondary program in preparation for a career that involves working with older adults. Sheriff's Office needs more crossing guards

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is looking to fill numerous crossing guard positions throughout Hillsborough County. The guards earn $11.51 per hour, 10 hours per week, and work 2 shifts per day: 7:10 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. (Some school hours vary.) Local Girl Scouts earn Gold Awards

Thirty-one Girl Scouts from west-central Florida, including ones from Tampa and Temple Terrace, will receive Girl Scout Gold Awards at an event June 4 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Nielsen Center, 501 Brooker Creek Blvd. The award is the highest one a Girl Scout can earn and celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Community dance features merengue

The Academy of Ballroom Dance will host a dance from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. June 4 at Community Hall, 1910 S Pebble Beach. At 6:30 p.m., one hour before the dance, Bernice DuBro and George Hawn will teach a merengue. Admission for the dance is free to members and $6 for guests.
