TOPSoccer, a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, begins registration Aug. 12 for its season, which runs from Sept. 10 to Nov. 19 in Brandon.

The program, organized by youth soccer association volunteers, is designed to bring about the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, age 5 and older, who has a mental or physical disability.

The goal is to enable the thousands of young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of Florida Youth Soccer and the U.S. Youth Soccer family.

TOPSoccer, or The Outreach Program for Soccer,

The program offers a relaxed format that emphasizes fun games: no practices; no keeping scores; no team standings. There is no cost for the families. It is a corporate and individually sponsored program.
