Brief: Hernando County to honor volunteers at recognition breakfast April 26

SPRING HILL —The Hernando County Commission will honor its volunteers with "A Garden of Thanks" recognition breakfast April 26 at the Sand Hill Scout Reservation, 11210 Cortez Blvd.

County commissioners and staff will prepare the food. Nearly 1,000 volunteers have been invited who help in groups such as the Hernando County Cooperative Extension (4-H leaders, master gardeners, consumer services), Community Emergency Response Teams, Citizens Corps, libraries, Adopt A Road groups, various advisory boards and committees, Hernando County Government Broadcasting, Animals Services, Code Enforcement and Veterans Services.

The event is open to anyone interested in learning more about how to become a volunteer.

Those wishing to attend should call the county's Community Relations Office at 540-6780.
