Visitation, funeral set for crash victim

Frank Whiffen Jr., a 22-year-old alumnus of Bishop Larkin and Bishop McLaughlin Catholic schools, died in a motorcycle crash Tuesday in Palm Beach County. The crash happened just before 9 p.m. outside a Lake Worth shopping complex. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo turned left in front of Whiffen, who was riding a 2003 Honda motorcycle. The vehicles collided and Whiffen was ejected from his bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Rodeo, Simon Celidieu, 46, of Lake Worth, was not injured. No charges have been filed. The Sheriff's Office said the investigation is ongoing. Whiffen had been living in Lake Worth. His Facebook page says he was engaged to be married. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 8014 State Road 52 in Hudson. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the same location. His fiancee asks for people to wear bright colors in his honor.
