Learn how to put together a hurricane survival kit at a free, fun and informative session presented by Pinellas County Emergency Management and Pinellas Public Library Cooperative 6-7 p.m. at the Safety Harbor Public Library, 101 Second St. No reservation required. Free drawing class: Bob Dockery will teach the fundamentals of pencil drawing at 2 p.m. at the Tarpon Springs Public Library, 128 E Lemon St. The class is open to ages 18 and older. Participants must bring their own sketch pad. Class size is limited. To register, call (727) 943-4922.

Summer 2009 exhibits: Summer art exhibits featuring the work of Taylor Oliver and Julie Leiman Weaver will be on display through Aug. 27 in the Clearwater Main Library's gallery, 100 N Osceola Ave. during normal business hours.

Responsible pet ownership: Broadway star Lisa Vroman will sing several songs and tell stories about her adopted dog Romeo and his friends at an informal performance noon-1 p.m. at Palm Harbor Middle School, 1800 Tampa Road.
